Building the UK and Ireland’s networks since 1993
For more than 30 years, Lenco has helped build the fixed, mobile and wireless telecommunications networks that homes and businesses across the UK and Ireland rely on.
Our story
Lenco Utilities was established in 1993 as a privately owned company, with its head office in Armagh City. From the start our work has centred on the networks people depend on: telecommunications, electrical power, gas and water distribution, and the civil engineering behind them.
We have been at the forefront of the optical fibre revolution, completing projects throughout the UK and Ireland for the main telecom operators. Today we are a turnkey build partner to Circet UK & Ireland, M Group Telecom, GoFibre and Magdalene.
More than 120 field operatives, backed by 25 office staff, work from our bases in Armagh, East Kilbride and Portlaoise. We schedule and deliver large and small projects with the consistency, quality and focus that keeps clients coming back.

Three decades of network build
From the first digital mobile networks to today’s gigabit full fibre, Lenco crews have been in the ground and up the poles at every stage.
1993
Founded in Armagh
Lenco is established as a privately owned utility contractor with its head office in Armagh City. Early work spans telecommunications, electrical power, and gas and water distribution, together with the civil engineering that supports them.
1990s
Building the fixed and mobile networks
As operators roll out digital mobile networks and modernise fixed lines, Lenco takes on work from the main telecom operators, delivering site acquisition, design, construction, rigging and concealment for mobile and wireless sites, alongside maintenance and replacement of fixed-line infrastructure.
2000s
The optical fibre revolution
Lenco moves to the forefront of optical fibre, designing, cabling, splicing and testing fibre networks throughout the UK and Ireland. Regional offices open in Glasgow, Inverness and Portlaoise, power work extends up to 132 kV, and our integrated management system is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
2010s
Superfast broadband
Lenco delivers next-generation access with BT on fibre to the cabinet: cabinet design and installation, fibre and copper fit-out, VDSL commissioning and service cutover. The same years bring natural gas to towns and cities across Northern Ireland, and a full year free of reportable accidents from June 2012 to June 2013.
2020s
Full fibre, gigabit and beyond
Lenco builds full-fibre networks as a turnkey partner to Circet UK & Ireland, M Group Telecom, GoFibre and Magdalene, including Gigabit programme builds on the Openreach network across Scotland, and is extending into power and EV charging infrastructure. Accreditations move to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.
